Let me start by saying…..That was so freaking good!!!!!!!
“Her name is Celaena Sardothien”
So Celaena is an assassin. She is an arrogant, bold, with a tendency to luxury assassin and I loved her for this! Who says a girl can’t be an assassin and like clothes at the same time??? I actually saw myself in Celaena (except for the assassin part *winks*) she is dynamic without losing her feminine side something I find extremely tricky to achieve. She is an enigmatic character and the author does a great job by mentioing her past without actually saying anything useful, it made me want to read it even faster. In the daytime she trains and makes her skills visible and at night she wears her ball gown and dances with the prince. What’s not to love about it?
“I will not be afraid”
She says it again and again and she believes it, eventually. It shows a character that is determined to not break under anyone’s rule, an admirable trait that she struggles to keep.
Dorian is the Crown Prince of Erilea and he is nothing like this father. He is good looking, he is kind to everyone, and he loves books. He worries about becoming king and he is, more or less, every woman’s Prince Charming. He just wants to make things right when he becomes king.
Chaol, the captain of the guard is introduced as a cold figure that gradually changes his demeanor towards Celaena. He is well respected and a dear friend to Dorian ( At least during the first book 😉 )
You can’t but love every one of them!!! It’s full of suspense and beautiful moments between the characters. It has romance but the book doesn’t focus on it and that was one of the things that made me love it even more! Sorry to spoil it to you but NOT everything revolves around a guy!!! Celaena proves just that!!! #GirlPower
Talking about girl power I can’t leave out Nehemia. She is an unexpected friend and ally who know more than she tells and makes you wonder if she really is as good as she appears to be.
A book like this is good but what makes it even better is MAGIC! A fantasy book without magic is like a dessert without sugar. It’s forbidden, it’s subtle and mysterious the perfect combination that makes the perfect book!
This book was love at first sight! ❤ ❤
This book became one of my favorites from the first page!!! I’m talking about a book with mystery, assassins, princes, princess and evil kings. You’re reading and reading and reading and you don’t want it to end…like EVER!!!
