Hello everyone!!! How have you been?? I hope you’re doing well and you’re reading a lot of books because I’m not😧😧 My exams are starting next week and I have been studying instead of reading…
No more depressing thoughts!!! I’m here to talk about an amazing book by an even more amazing author!! Said book is A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas!!!
I have no excuse for not writing this sooner but my unwillingness to believe that I have to wait until the next book!!! If anyone asked me to describe this book in one word it would be: WOW!!!! (yes it is a word and you can’t convince me that it isn’t).
I will try to keep my review short and as spoiler free as possible!!!
The book starts with Feyre and Tamlin organizing their wedding…in theory!! In practice they have been really distant to each other and if you ask me the only time they were actually together without arguing or Feyre being unhappy was when they were having sex…If you ask me after some time it actually felt really awkward…
“No one was my master— but I might be master of everything, if I wished. If I dared.”
Feyre is having awful nightmares by night and she has to play the happy hostess by day! Tamlin becomes a complete idiot that I just don’t recognize!! Thank god (or should I say Rhysand) that wedding didn’t happen!!
Remember that “awful” deal Feyre made with Rhysand to spend one week each month at the Night Court?? Yes that one!! Rhysand goes to collect his debt and guess what?? No one is happy…especially Feyre and I don’t understand why!!! I a gorgeous guy wanted to spend a week with me I would totally go!!! Kidding of course, about Feyre not me 😅😅
So after a particular nasty thing from Tamlin Feyre has a violent panic attack and Rhysand is there to save her…with some help!!! After this event she realizes that she doesn’t want to go back to the Spring Court and Tamlin. Rhysand offers her a place to stay at the Night Court and she accepts.😍
Essentially we spend most of the book in the Night Court where we (finally) get to know Rhysand and his Inner Circle!!
It is revealed that Rhysand is the most powerful High Lord the world has ever seen! His powers come both from his father, the former High Lord of the Night Court and his, mother who was an Illyrian! The Illyrians are a warrior race living in the Night Court that have bat like wings, that’s where Rhysand gets his! Now the Inner Circle consists of the most amazing people!!! First, there is Morrigan or Mor, she is Rhysand cousin and third in command in the Inner Circle! Then, we have the second in command, Amren who is a powerful and very old creature made into a High Fae, much like Feyre! And last but not least we have Cassian and Azriel, they are two very powerful Illyrian warriors who are also childhood friends with Rhys.😍😍😍
“To the stars who listen— and the dreams that are answered.”
About the plot this book is full of surprises…We have the Night Court which isn’t anything we ever imagined!! Instead of a dark and gloomy place we have a beautiful place which is made to be seen at Night. We also have a whole new Feyre in many different aspects…she has a new body with new abilities she just starting to discover while she is trying to understand what she needs in her life emotionally…ahhh….We also get to see more of Feyre’s sisters and the history of Prythian!!
One thing I didn’t like in the book was that we didn’t see much of Lucien! The thing is I think Lucien is not a bad person and I could feel his hesitation in the scenes we actually saw him. The problem is that he feels indebted to Tamlin even after all these years because he took him in after he left the Autumn Court. I have faith that in the next book he will realize that Tamlin is wrong and he will help Feyre!!!
I LOVE this picture and since I left my whole review spoiler free I couldn’t resist…!!!!!
