Hi everyone!!!! How have you been??? I hope you’re doing great!!!!! Have you heard the most recent and exciting news going around on bookstangram??? Yes yes I’m talking about the cover for A Court of Wings and Ruin!!!!!! Beautiful dress and I loved the blade as well but I don’t really love the petrol (green/blue) background….Either way I can’t wait to read it!!!
So let’s get back to the main theme of this post which is The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater!!!! I had heard so many things about this book and I thought it was time to actually read it!! And I did!!!
This book features many point of views and that was really interest, to see the event through many people!!
“She wasn’t interested in telling other people’s futures. She was interested in going out and finding her own.”
First, we have Blue Sargent. She lives with her mother in a house full of psychics who has been telling her since she was young that she will kill her true love!! Ominous, I know!!!
And then we have our Raven Boys! There is Gansey, Adam, Ronan and Noah. Those four go to a local expensive private school, the Aglionby Academy!!! Gansey is essential a rich kid who has learned his whole life that he can have everything but not in a bad way. He isn’t bad it’s just he thinks that his life is the normal and sometimes he doesn’t understand the rest of the world for what it is…Unfair!
Adam on the other hand, comes from a poor family and he has a scholarship at Aglionby. Heis determined not to let his background stop him from a better feature. Also, he is so prideful and don’t let anyone help him financially, especially Gansey.
Ronan also comes from a rich family but it’s only him and his brother, with whom he doesn’t get along with…He is usually angry and it seems the only thing that he cares about is a little raven, which he named Chainsaw!! You’re fooling no one Ronan we know you care deep down!!!
And Noah is the most quiet and reserved of the group…he doesn’t talk much generally but the part of the group just the same as the rest of them!!
So this group of people with all their different characters, get together to find the tomb of an ancient Welsh king! According to some mythology the person who will find and wake the ancient king Glendower will get to make a wish!! The book features some interesting Welsh mythology ( I don’t know if they are real because I don’t know a thing about Welsh Mythology) and you don’t see this kind of mythology very often so I liked the fact that it was something different.
I have to say it was a really nice book but it didn’t exactly WOW me!!! I seemed to me that there were some undeveloped parts of the book. For me the book was a little bit more of a love story than an action book for my tastes. Of course, I will be reading the second book The Dream Thieves because I would like to know what happens next and I imagine we will get answers for some of my questions!!!!!
“Fate is a very heavy weighty word to throw around before breakfast”
Since I consider this a short review I accept congratulations for keeping it this short!!!! Hahaha, thank you for reading it and I hope you found my review helpful!!!!!
